Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT)

Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT) was founded in November 1, 1951 under the name “Higher State Agricultural Institute”. In 1991 it was named “Agricultural University of Tirana”. AUT is located a few kilometers outside the capital-city.
Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT) is the only training center of undergraduate, graduate, research, training and extension in agriculture and food in Albania. It was established on November 1, 1951. AUT is a unique university campus in Albania, located in north-western of Tirana, just 7 km away from the center of Tirana city. It plays a pivotal role in the economic and sociocultural development of the Albanian economy with a distinctive educational philosophy of active learning throughout its programs, in many disciplines and at all levels ensuring that it stays firmly in touch with the needs of industries and the community.
The AUT’s mission is to educate professionals and researcher in the field of agriculture, food and environment. Its mission is related to development a modern agriculture and ensuring healthy and quality food in Albania. AUT aims to become the most excellence and the largest center of university education, postgraduate, research and training for professional of specialists in the field of agriculture, food and environment. He has five faculties, which are: Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness, Faculty of Biotechnology and Food, Faculty of Forest Sciences and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
